How Important is your Shop Front Design?

Although I'm an interior designer, I am always involved in the planning of the shop front and signage. This is because aesthetically the design should follow seamlessly from outside to in and vice versa.

However I have often been asked by clients why they should spend a significant amount of their budget on their shop front. So I thought I'd share why here!

1. It is the first impression. Customers will decide in seconds by looking at the shop front, if they want to actually go in!

2. It communicates your brand- what do you offer? What the brand values are and the cost point. If I tell you to imagine a run of the mill dirty kebab joint vs a high end restaurant front, you will know what I mean!

3. It helps you communicate your value, as the above example, if you are trying to offer a high end product but the shop front screams cheap you will lose valuable customers but also tarnish the brand.

4. It helps you stand out! In a busy high Street if you soend time considering the colours/font/graphics of your shop front you are much more likely to catch people's attention and remain memorable!

5.. You can upsell! Make sure customers know all that you can do. Offer breakfast lunch and dinner? Add signage to the shop front to communicate this, otherwise customers will lead by what they assume to be true!
